Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation (RCCFDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Meghan Sutherland as the new Business Development Officer, effective March 3rd. Meghan brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong commitment to supporting businesses and individuals in achieving their financial goals.

Most recently, Meghan served as Branch Manager for Meridian Credit Union in Pembroke, where she developed a deep passion for fostering local economic growth. Beyond her professional expertise, she is a dedicated community advocate, having previously served as President of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce and actively contributed to organizations such as the Pembroke Kidney Foundation.

“Having been self-employed in the past, I understand firsthand the challenges that small businesses face. This experience has given me valuable insight into the support they need to thrive, and I am excited to bring this perspective to my new role at RCCFDC.” – Meghan Sutherland

Meghan succeeds long-time Business Development Officer Mike Thompson, who will retire at the end of March after nearly 16 years of dedicated service. Since joining RCCFDC in August 2009, Mike has been a trusted advisor to countless local businesses, helping them navigate challenges, access resources, and achieve success. His contributions have left a lasting impact, and he will be greatly missed by clients, colleagues, and the RCCFDC Board of Directors.

“It has been an honor to support local businesses since 2009, and I am confident that under Meghan’s leadership, RCCFDC will continue to provide the guidance and resources they need to succeed.” – Mike Thompson

As RCCFDC prepares for this leadership transition, local businesses can remain confident that they will continue to receive exceptional support. Need support for your business? Contact Meghan Sutherland at RCCFDC to explore funding, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
