Business Counselling is available for free to any business located in Renfrew County or the City of Pembroke looking for advisory assistance. Coaching services can be accessed via telephone, zoom, or in person.

Algonquin College Pembroke Campus

Located in the City of Pembroke, approximately 140 km. northwest of downtown Ottawa. Algonquin College programs cover a wide variety in Business, Computer and Technology, Health Science, Outdoor Training, Environmental Science, and Community Studies. The College also hosts Community Employment Services (CES), which provide employment assistance to individuals who are looking for work or re-training opportunities. Labour Market Group Renfrew Lanark

The Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark (LMG) represents one of 26 workforce planning areas in the Province of Ontario. Funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development of Ontario, the group works to provide accurate and timely labour market information to employers, job seekers and organizations that use labour market data for strategic planning purposes. The group also provides annual labour market reports that outline trends in the local labour force using statistical data from several sources, as well an intelligence gathered from local employers and employment agencies.

Local Immigration Partnership

In Lanark and Renfrew Counties, the work of Local Immigration Partnerships is administered by Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus. To enable this work to happen, LIP staff conduct research to identify challenges that are preventing newcomers from fully participating in the economic, social, cultural and recreational life of the community. How do I apply for a loan with Community Futures?

To apply for a loan, click on the “Apply Now” button under the loan type that best suits your project.

How do I qualify for a loan with Community Futures?

To qualify for a loan with Community Futures, businesses applying for financing must be located in the County of Renfrew or the City of Pembroke.

Do you offer grants in addition to business financing?

In addition to business financing, we are sometimes also able to offer funding opportunities aimed at advancing economic development in rural eastern Ontario by contributing to the development of businesses and communities. Any current programming being offered can be found on the financing/funding page.

Can I appeal a loan if it is declined?

Declined loans can be appealed within ten (10) days of the date they were notified of the rejection.

All appeals must be made in writing to the Executive Director and/or the Chair of the Board of Directors at info@rccfdc.org.
What is the Loan Application fee?

The loan application fee varies depending on the amount of the loan being requested. The fee of 1% (minimum $250) of the requested amount must accompany all loan applications. The application fee is collected on the understanding should the loan request not be approved, the full application fee will be returned. The Loan Application Fee will not be returned if the application is approved or withdrawn once a Discussion Letter has been signed.

The Recruitment & Nominating Committee is responsible for the preparation of a slate of directors to be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
