The Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation (RCCFDC) is proud to share the results of our second year offering the Renfrew County Community Development Fund.

In 2024–2025, RCCFDC awarded nearly $30,000 to support eight economic development projects across Renfrew County. These non-repayable grants of up to $5,000 help not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and Business Improvement Areas launch new or enhanced initiatives that contribute to local economic growth.

In addition to the funding awarded, these projects also leveraged nearly $30,000 in additional community investment, amplifying their overall impact. Over two rounds of funding, the program has now supported an estimated $94,000 in combined project value, thanks to matched contributions from local partners.

A Focus on Tourism, Capacity Building, and Community Pride

This year, a clear trend emerged: many projects focused on tourism development, community pride, and destination marketing. These themes reflect a shared commitment to showcasing the region and attracting visitors in meaningful ways.

For example, organizations used funding to:

  • Enhance tourism infrastructure and signage, such as in North Algona Wilberforce and Whitewater Region
  • Celebrate local culture and identity through events like the Beachburg Fair and Renfrew’s Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival
  • Promote regional culinary tourism, led by the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association
  • Strengthen downtown vibrancy with seasonal streetscape banners in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards and holiday lighting in Renfrew

Meanwhile, other initiatives, such as the Town of Petawawa’s Development Summit, took a strategic approach. By gathering feedback from developers, business leaders, and other stakeholders, the town is laying the groundwork for sustainable future growth.

The Power of Partnership

Each project supported through the Renfrew County Community Development Fund shows the impact that’s possible when we invest in collaboration, creativity, and strategic vision. Together, we’re helping to build a stronger, more resilient Renfrew County — one project at a time.

We look forward to continuing this momentum!
