The Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation (RCCFDC) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our dedicated team.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the BDO serves as the principal contact for all loan and business development clients, attracting, coaching, and guiding them toward success. This role oversees all aspects of lending, growing the loan portfolio, business counselling, workshop delivery, and reporting on loan portfolio performance.

As the Business Development Officer, you will focus on maximizing investments to support job creation and economic growth. You should possess a strong financial and lending background and demonstrate a collaborative approach to fostering business development in Renfrew County.

RCCFDC is a bilingual, provincially incorporated non-profit organization governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. We are committed to fostering entrepreneurial opportunities and driving economic growth in Renfrew County.
Funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) as part of the Community Futures Program, we employ a grassroots approach—crafting local solutions and investing in entrepreneurs and community initiatives that address the unique challenges of our local economy.
Our service area covers all of Renfrew County, including the City of Pembroke and the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan, with offices in Pembroke and Renfrew. The BDO will primarily work out of the Pembroke satellite office.
We offer a hybrid workplace with a compressed 4-day workweek—two days in-office and two days remote.

Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in finance, business/commerce, or a related field.
- Significant professional experience in business loan management, including preparing security documents and working knowledge of the Personal Property Security Act; well-developed credit and collection skills.
- Experience in analysing financial statements, evaluating business plans, and providing business counselling and advice to entrepreneurs.
- Ability to work independently while consistently demonstrating professionalism, critical thinking, interpersonal, multitasking, and prioritising skills, along with sound judgement and strict confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with Board Directors, funders, coworkers, organizational partners, the business community, and the general public.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to represent RCCFDC positively and professionally.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle while at work.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: $76,211–$87,245.
- Compressed 4-day workweek with 2 days remote work.
