At the Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation, our team is the heart of what we do. The Renfrew County Community Futures team supports rural businesses and non-profits by building relationships, offering strategic guidance, and helping our communities grow.

Behind every loan, workshop, and community project is a small but mighty team of people making it happen. Get to know us: what we do, what drives us, and a few fun facts you might not expect.

Cyndy Phillips, Executive Director

“I’m privileged to work with a fantastic team of board members and staff to support economic development across Renfrew County. My role is to empower our staff to be their best, to guide and inform the Board in their decision-making, and develop meaningful partnerships that share our core mandates.”

“I love working across all sectors, meeting new people, fostering entrepreneurship and positively impacting rural communities.”

Fun fact: Cyndy is a beekeeper and sourdough baker. Her favourite pastime is cooking!

Teena McKitchen, Financial Administrator

“I handle the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the organization, from bookkeeping and payroll to board meeting minutes and client loan records. I also support our Executive Director and help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.”

“I love the variety in my role. No two days are ever quite the same. It’s rewarding to know that my work helps support local businesses and communities through the programs we offer.”

Fun fact: Teena makes a killer banana bread, and yes, she brings it to the office sometimes!
